Greater Richmond Interfaith Program

GRIP is a community outreach, advocacy and homelessness prevention organization encompassing over forty-one member congregations. Together, we work to address critical issues of human dignity and social justice that affect the poor, the homeless and the disenfranchised. GRIP’s three core initiatives include: providing food, shelter and supportive services to help homeless individuals and families make the transition to self-sufficiency. Open Door UMC volunteers serve meals regularly at GRIP’s Souper Center.
Kairos Prison Ministry International

Bi-annually members of Open Door volunteer with the Kairos Prison Ministry to help address the needs of incarcerated men and women in Northern California.
Richmond Emergency Food Pantry

The Pantry feeds more than 42,000 individuals annually throughout Richmond and West Contra Costa County. They are a completely volunteer run organization. Open Door collects and donates food quarterly throughout the year (5th Sundays.)
