Greater Richmond Interfaith Program

GRIP is a community outreach, advocacy and homelessness prevention organization encompassing over forty-one member congregations. Together, we work to address critical issues of human dignity and social justice that affect the poor, the homeless and the disenfranchised. GRIP’s three core initiatives include: providing food, shelter and supportive services to help homeless individuals and families make the transition to self-sufficiency. Open Door UMC volunteers serve meals regularly at GRIP’s Souper Center; and lead “Let’s Knit,” a weekly knitting group for kids and moms. www.gripcommunity.org

Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano – Let’s Grow Richmond!

We are involved in the Food Bank’s ongoing “donor-drive.” We take green reusable shopping bags, fill with non-perishables and deliver to the Food Pantry once a month. If you’d like to get involved, pick up a green bag from the church office, fill and bring it to Worship first Sundays of Jun/Aug/Oct/Dec/Feb.

Richmond Emergency Food Pantry

The Pantry feeds more than 42,000 individuals annually throughout Richmond and West Contra Costa County. They are a completely volunteer run organization. ECUMC donates money and food several times throughout the year collected through food drives and special offerings. www.refp.org
